# Oosterschelde Storm Surge Barrier

The Oosterschelde storm surge barrier is one of the great works of the Delta Works. The barrier is about 9 kilometres long and has 62 gates that close during a storm surge.

## Good to know

- From the coast at Westenschouwen you can see the barrier, for example from Strand Domeinen 1.
- The marker on the map is at the barrier itself, which lies outside the cycle loop.
