The Watersnoodmuseum (Flood Museum) in Ouwerkerk is housed in four caissons: the concrete giants used in November 1953 to close the last dike breach. You see stories, objects, photographs and films about the disaster, the rescue efforts and the reconstruction. An impressive museum that shows what happened on Schouwen-Duiveland.

## What can you do here?

- Each caisson has its own theme: the background of the disaster, personal stories and the machinery used to repair the dikes.
- In the fourth caisson you learn how floods can arise now and in the future, with interactive scenarios and a water workshop.
- Follow a free audio tour.
