The Meeuwenduinen show all sides of the original dunes: from the sea dune ridge to the inner dunes, from woodland edge to open grassland. In some places the sand still drifts as it did a hundred years ago. You will find drifting dunes, dune valleys and moss-covered slopes. With luck you will see fallow deer or roe deer, and with an eye for birds the short-eared owl or the wheatear.
